Education

DCRP can provide learning resources on waste and recycling to schools situated within green box areas. Support can be offered in a number of ways to all curriculum key stages.

We have a number of educational packs, CD Roms and videos to loan to schools or deliver by DCRP’s Education Officer. Assemblies highlighting the problems we have with waste and waste solutions (3R’s and Green Box).

Lessons and talks to classes. Assistance in recycling projects. Worksheets and Games. All Our Services Are Free!

DCRP are also able to offer recycling for schools. We can give schools green boxes for paper and/or cans to be placed in and we will collect the boxes once a week. All we ask is that the boxes be gathered to one accessible location on the day of collection.

Use information across our web pages and other useful links to complete the following activities.

ONLINE ACTIVITIES

1.Practical solutions

To REDUCING, RE-USING & RECYCLING at school. List as many ways as you can think of which will minimise the amount of waste going into your school dustbin. Contact us for a list of possible solutions, check your list against ours, are there any solutions you hadn’t thought of, are there any that we haven’t listed?

Examples: Have a scrap paper drawer for rough work. This allows you to RE-USE paper. Collect wasted items for craft, i.e. decorations

The 3 R’s are the 3 main steps we must think about if we want to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill or incineration.
